AT BARKING PAWFECT, I AM PROUD TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR PET. BY MAKING A BOOKING WITH BARKING PAWFECT, YOU AGREE TO THE STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS AS SET OUT BELOW:
1. BOOKINGS - You may amend your original booking once only (up to 24 hrs pre the original booked date). If the change is accepted you will be notified. Changes may be declined due to availability or other reasons. No fee is applied for one changed appointment respecting the condition above.
2. CANCELLATIONS & NO SHOWS – Barking Pawfect requires at least 24 hours notice to cancel your original booking. Less than this, or no show at your booked appointment time results in FULL payment being due. To reschedule or cancel an appointment please call or text the salon on, providing your name, pets name, time and date of appointment. Only once Barking Pawfect has acknowledged this message can your request be confirmed. If less than 24 hours, any and all future appointments are suspended and no further appointments offered, until the owed groom amount is paid in full.
3. TIME KEEPING - Barking Pawfect works by 1-2-1 appointment and offer a free reminder service. Any late arrivals of 15 minutes or more, Barking Pawfect reserves the right to reschedule or cancel appointments. If cancelled, FULL payment is required. If you think you will be late, please call the salon in advance to advise. Please arrive 5 minutes early for your appointment. Barking Pawfect doesn't have facilities for multiple pets and CANNOT accept the next until the previous one has left. You will be messaged, if there is a delay to the collection time of your pet. Please arrange for your pet to be collected with a 10 minute window of this time. If not, a late collection fee will be charged.
4. PRICING - Pricing is based on breed, hair length, coat condition, temperament, age, and grooming history. Extra charges may apply if your dog is matted, requires extra bathing, has fleas, behavioural issues or has not been groomed within the recommended grooming schedule. Puppy or Kitten prices are only applicable to dogs and kittens under 6 months of age.
5. PAYMENTS - Full cost payment of the service is required upon collection of your pet by cash or card. There may be occasions where additional grooming is required beyond what was initially quoted that couldn’t reasonably be identified or foreseen at the time of booking. The groomer will endeavour to contact you immediately, but any additional costs shall be your responsibility and Barking Pawfect shall not be liable for these. All payments for extra grooming services must be paid before leaving the salon. If under extreme circumstances payment is not made on collection, there will be a late payment fee added to the final amount.
6. GROOM DURATION - Times for commencement and completion of any service are given in good faith, however, unless specifically guaranteed, Barking Pawfect will not be liable for any delay in commencement or completion of a grooming service. Where appropriate, Barking Pawfect will notify the customer of any delays at the earliest opportunity.
7. PET’S HEALTH & WELFARE - By attending appointments, you confirm your pet is fit and healthy and up-to-date with vaccinations, flea & wormer treatments. Grooming of sick/ elderly dogs is entirely at owner’s risk. You will advise the groomer of any heart conditions, stress related issues and warts/ lumps/ bumps your pet may have, to the best of your knowledge. Barking Pawfect does not take responsibility if your pet develops an allergic reaction to any grooming products. Please let me know of anything in advance, if known, or notify of ANY irritations caused afterwards. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health conditions that I cannot be held liable for.
8. VET CARE – Barking Pawfect endeavours to provide the best service possible, but in the rare case of an accident, the owner agrees for Barking Pawfect to administer emergency first aid and should the need arise, transport their pet to the nearest vet for treatment. The pet owner agrees to pay any and all fees incurred. Every precaution will be taken to prevent injury from occurring, but if this does happen and your dog needs to see a vet, Barking Pawfect is not liable for costs incurred.
9. FLEAS - Barking Pawfect reserves the right to decline to groom dogs with fleas. If fleas are found on your pet and we have not been informed of this possibility, an additional cost (on top of the groom price) will be incurred to pay for the products required to treat the salon and prevent cross contamination to other dogs. Extra care will be taken during the bathing process to maximise the chance of washing them all off the pets coat during the bath. This cannot be guaranteed and Barking Pawfect reserves the right to decline any other types of service until your pet’s flea infection is treated.
10. GROOMER SAFETY – Barking Pawfect reserves the right to refuse a pet that presents a risk of injury to itself or staff, & muzzle your pet if it represents a danger to any other animal or person. Please ensure you advise at booking if your dog has behavioural problems.
11. GUARANTEE - Due to the nature of our work, Barking Pawfect does not offer any sort of guarantee or warranty but can offer advice on how to care for your pet following a groom. Barking Pawfect cannot be held responsible for your actions, or any subsequent issues caused directly or indirectly by yourself.
12. ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS - Routine appointments are important. Any pets who are booked in over the recommended time scale will incur an extra charge due to the extra hair growth and extra time needed. Most pets, dependant on breed need regular grooming every 4-8 weeks. This is the time scale you should consider. If you are unsure, please speak to your groomer.
13. NAIL CLIPPING, ANAL GLANDS & EAR PLUCKING - Nail clipping is a complimentary part of the groom. If the pet doesn't allow this to be achieved then the full groom fee is still payable.
Anal gland expression and ear plucking is not a substitute for veterinary care. If your dog is showing signs of discomfort or concerning symptoms, we will recommend a veterinary consultation. Barking Pawfect is not liable for any complications that arise after these service.
14. SLANDER - Under the malicious communications act 1998 section 1, Barking Pawfect will not accept or tolerate any slander, malicious falsehood or defamation via social media outlets relating to a groom due to coats that have not been maintained at home (matted coat), or miscommunication.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet’s groom, please let us know ASAP. We welcome feedback, and this can be reported to us directly.
15. PHOTOS - Pictures of your pet may be taken during their time with Barking Pawfect. These are for business purposes; social media and the website. Any images taken will remain the copyright of Barking Pawfect. Consent for photos is requested on the Customer Registration form. Should you change your mind at any time, please confirm this in email format.
Under the Animal Welfare Act, 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal.
Barking Pawfect will always ensure your pet is comfortable and will not cause discomfort by de-matting. Barking Pawfect reserves the right to remove the dogs coat with clippers if it is felt that de-matting will cause stress.
Shaving of pets will change their appearance and the hair will be short and close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin conditions which Barking Pawfect will not be held liable for.
Barking Pawfect will not be held liable for any conditions arising following the clipping of your pet. Examples are, but not limited to, redness, irritation, nicks from the blade from clipping so close to the skin from the neglect of the pets coat not being maintained at home.
A warning that severely matted pets can suffer many conditions from the neglect of not being brushed or groomed regularly which Barking Pawfect are not held liable for.
Extra charges will apply if there is substantial matting. This covers the extra time it takes, the use of specialist tools and wear on the equipment used, matting charges will be determined on a case by case basis.
Barking Pawfect accepts no responsibility for any vet fees if health issues are exposed when clipping off a matted coat.
Please remember that hair grows back!
By booking and attending an appointment with Barking Pawfect, you give your permission to shave your pet off if required.
An initial consultation is booked and carried out before any teeth cleaning can commence.
The method of ultrasonic dental cleaning is highly effective in removing mild tartar, improving gums, breath odour and overall oral health. Barking Pawfect cannot guarantee the results, effectiveness or suitability for individual pets due to varying external factors.
If dogs become distressed or the groomer discovers anything likely to cause discomfort to your pet, Barking Pawfect will discontinue immediately and inform you. The best approach to solve this will then be discussed with you.
Each pet will have its own toothbrush head that will not be used on another dog. This is purchased as part of the initial consultation and will be replaced after 25 treatments or sooner if required. Some pets may chew the brush head and if this is excessive it may need replacing sooner to maintain effectiveness. Brush heads will require replacing after 1 year regardless of number of times they have been used. Toothbrush costs are passed onto owners and you will be informed of these costs as heads are needed. The deep clean cost includes a toothbrush head for your pet.
If Barking Pawfect feel any teeth are loose or at risk of becoming loose when the tartar comes off, the groomer will request you get your pets’ teeth checked at your veterinarian before treatment.
It is possible that the tartar build up will be too great and a veterinary dental visit may be necessary initially. This can then followed up with ultrasonic maintenance visits with me.
Barking Pawfect cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic treatments.
Barking Pawfect's ultrasonic treatment is not a veterinary procedure and Barking Pawfect cannot diagnose any problems with your dogs mouth. Please have any advisories checked by your veterinarian.
You, the owner, understand that the effectiveness of the ultrasound teeth cleaning is based on frequency and that optimum oral health might only be achieved by keeping to the frequency recommended by Barking Pawfect.
